Ontario motorcyclist dies in a fatal collision on Cabot Trail, Ingonish Beach, N.S.

RCMP in Ingonish Beach are investigating a fatal motorcycle collision involving a deer on the Cabot Trail.

At approximately 9:45 a.m. today, Ingonish Beach RCMP received a 911 call regarding a collision between a deer and motorcycle near Buchanan Memorial Hospital on the Cabot Trail. A group of five motorcycles were traveling north on the Cabot Trail when a deer came out of the ditch and collided with one of the motorcycle. The rider was knocked off the bike and struck the guard rail on the shoulder of the road. The 47-year-old man from Ontario was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name is not being released pending notification of next of kin. The investigation is continuing with assistance from RCMP Cape Breton Traffic Services.
