The Montreal Impact acquired an international roster spot for the 2014 season on Friday from the Colorado Rapids for defender Tyson Wahl. As per Major League Soccer and Impact policy, details of the deal were not disclosed.

“We want to thank Tyson for his time in Montreal,” said Impact head coach Jesse Marsch. “He was very committed and showed a lot of leadership to this organization. We wish him the best of luck with the Rapids.”

“Although it wasn’t always easy for him during his stay, he remained a true professional from the first day,” added Impact sporting director Nick De Santis. “We want to thank him for his services and wish him the best in Colorado.”

Wahl started 11 regular-season games (990 minutes) and two Canadian Championship games, and also played in two MLS Reserve League games for the Impact in 2012, following stints with the Seattle Sounders FC and Kansas City Wizards.

He was acquired by the Impact in a trade with Seattle on November 23, 2011.

The Impact will play its next game on the road on Saturday, July 14, versus the Philadelphia Union at 7pm (ET). The club will then return home on Wednesday, July 18, to host the New England Revolution at Stade Saputo, at 8pm.
