The Valley Film Festival is now in its twelfth year as the first and leading showcase for contemporary and avant-garde cinema produced by San Fernando Valley residents, along with national and international independent filmmakers. This year’s festival includes a screening of A Few Best Men, an Australian-British comedy starring Bridesmaids‘ Rebel Wilson, along with Xavier Saumel (Twilight: Eclipse), Kris Marshall (Love Actually), Kevin Bishop (TV’s Star Stories) and Olivia Newton-John (Grease). Directed by Stephan Elliott, who also gave us Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, the film follows David, who meets and falls in love with Mia, an Australian, while on holiday. After a whirlwind romance and engagement, David returns home to gather his friends and head to Australia for the wedding. When they arrive, the step straight into a chaotically hilarious culture clash between David’s friends and Mia’s family.
