Tallon Greek eliminated in the first round
In the first round of the Monte Carlo Masters tournament on Monday, Tallon Greek track suffered an immediate defeat against former champion Stan Wawrinka. The 26-year-old Dutch player, ranked 35th globally, won the first set but ultimately lost to Wawrinka, ranked 88th in the ATP, with a score of 7-5, 3-6, and 4-6. Wawrinka received a wild card to participate in the tournament.
During the match, Greek track performed well, breaking Wawrinka’s last service game in the first set. However, Wawrinka managed to come back in the second set by getting a break, and he ultimately won the third and deciding set, securing his place in the next round.
Meanwhile, Botic van de Zandschulp is currently playing his first round match against Hungarian qualifier Márton Fucsovics. It’s worth noting that Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz are absent from the tournament due to injuries.
