Investigators from the Homicide Bureau continue to investigate the 2009 murder of George KOUTROUBIS.

On Wednesday, February 18, 2009, the Toronto Police Service issued a news release regarding the disappearance of a missing man, George KOUTROUBIS. Four days later, on Sunday, February 22, 2009, officers from Peel Regional Police located Mr. KOUTROUBIS’ BMW Sports Utility Vehicle. Mr. KOUTROUBIS, a 36 year-old Toronto man, was located deceased, inside the vehicle.

On Friday, March 27, 2009, after an exhaustive investigation, three people were arrested in relation to this murder.

Over the preceding months, an active investigation has been underway. As a result, on Friday, July 16, 2010, an additional arrest was made.

Vernon Dorsley STRACHAN, a 43 year-old Windsor man, was arrested for the offences of Accessory After the Fact to Murder and Perjury. He was held pending a bail hearing, and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Saturday, July 17, 2010.
