USA: Oye! Times readers Get FREE $30 to spend on Amazon, Walmart…Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh will be making his debut in Bollywood with the Abhishek Chaubey directorial Udta Punjab. While readers are aware that Diljit will be paired opposite Kareena Kapoor in the film, now it has been revealed that he will be seen playing the role of a cop.
Diljit, who has sung popular tracks like 'Patiala Peg', 'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya' among others, has also impressed the audience as an actor in films like Jatt & Juliet and National Award winning Punjab 1984. On the other hand, his Bollywood debut Udta Punjab is a gritty thriller which revolves around the deep-rooted nexus of drugs and crime in the interiors of Punjab.
Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Phantom Productions, Udta Punjab will once again see the pairing of Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor, who have already shot together another film titled Shaandaar. The film has an extensive shoot schedule in Punjab and has already gone on floor in the northern state.
