Delhi life came to standstill early Friday morning as heavy rainfall (36.6 mm) paralyzed office and school commute..

The rain started Thursday night and continued till Friday morning, causing problems for the city’s sewerage system in several areas of the city.

The sources reported that there had been damage to homes in different parts of the city. According to one source a child was injured as a small portion of a hospital wall fell on the child in the early morning.

Heavy rains soaked much of Prahladpur, Lala Lajpat Rai Road, DND flyover, Patpadganj Flyover, GTB road, Defence Colony Flyover, Govindpuri, Maharani Bagh Flyover and Bhairon Marg.

The traffic congested areas included Dwrika, Kadkaddooma, Adhchini T-point, Moolchand towards Lodi Road, Sarita Vihar, Nehru Place, Ashram, Aurobindo Marg, Nanakpura, Naraina, Dhaula Kuan flyover, Ring Road and at Laxmi Nagar metro station.
