Police authorities have arrested a Sydney woman, 22-years-old, for child prostitution and armed robberies on Friday. Detectives were informed about the child prostitution ring in February after which they continued to follow the woman and others coming and going to her place, and finally made the arrest at about 8 30 this morning.
According to police observation, the woman has girls as young as 13 years of age providing sexual services to men in moving vehicles and/or motels. Two other girls of similar age bracket are also known to be associated with the woman handling them.
The crime manager of Liverpool Danny Doherty mentioned that the accused woman took girls from the streets living miserable lives or through homeless shelters. She used to contact the clients via her mobile phone and arrange for meeting the girls in motels and cars.
Speaking to the media Doherty said, “It’s a sad reflection on society when you’ve got a 22-year-old woman soliciting and making money out of kids as young as 13. It’s obviously very unusual for a young woman to be arranging other young women to engage in acts of prostitution”.
Police authorities also called for the young women involved in prostitution to come forward and let their team help them.
