The dance theater piece Wombman (pronounced “woman”) explores what it means to be female in today’s society through a dynamic choreographed story, examining issues of gender, race, obsession and even anatomy. The creation of Enlightened Theater’s Ashlee Katrice Thomas, who’ll also perform, the work features an ensemble of seven talented dancers. They’ll take audiences on a journey through each woman’s life cycle, spotlighting their shared and individual experiences and bringing an enlightened — and engaging — sociopolitical viewpoint to the welcoming stage at Highways.
