Verizon Wireless Amphitheater (Irvine, CA)
311 brings their blend of rock, funk and reggae to Irvine’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, joined by Slightly Stoopid. Founded in Nebraska, 311 first found fame with their 1995 album 311, which featured the hits “Down” and “All Mixed Up.” They’ve gone on to record such hits as “Beautiful Disaster,” “Come Original” and a chart-topping cover of the Cure’s “Love Song.” 311 is still going strong, with 2005’s “Don’t Tread on Me,” 2009’s “Hey You” and 2011’s “Sunset in July” all reaching the Billboard Top Ten. San Diego reggae-rockers Slightly Stoopid were discovered by late Sublime frontman Bradley Nowell, and they’ve had a huge cult following since the mid-’90s, playing alongside the Dave Matthews Band, Damian Marley, the Roots, Snoop Dogg and many more. Virginia reggae group SOJA opens the show.
