Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (Los Angeles, CA)
There should be no shortage of offensive firepower as USC hosts Hawaii for their first home football game of the year. National preseason polls have the Trojans ranked #3 nationally, and with postseason sanctions being lifted, USC has some unfinished business for 2012. It’s only fitting that they welcome former assistant coach Norm Chow, who is now Hawaii’s head coach, for the kickoff of what is promising to be an important home campaign. Back are conference all-stars Matt Barkley, T.J. McDonald and a host of talented veterans, including the intimidating combination of tailback Curtis McNeal and WRs Robert Woods and Marquise Lee. The Men of Troy had better be prepared for a Hawaii team that may not feature the run-and-shoot of recent years, but promises to put up plenty of points now that ol’ Norm is at the helm with his spread offense. USC should be ready, especially when head coach Lane Kiffin emphasizes, “the game is about the prep and not the hype.”
