The RCMP/HRP Integrated Major Crime Unit continues to investigate the murder of Andrea King. Today, marks the twenty year anniversary of her reported missing.
On January 1st, 1992, Andrea King, 18, flew to Halifax, N.S. from New Westminster, B.C. to do some travelling and to find some work. Ms. King called her sister from the Halifax airport stating she had arrived and was en route to Halifax where she intended to stay at a hostel. She was to notify her family with an address where she was staying. she was not heard from again. On January 4th, 1992, Ms. King’s family reported her missing to the Surrey RCMP. A missing person investigation was conducted in Halifax and New Westminster, B.C., but no trace of King was found. Police were unable to identify anyone who had contact with her after arrival in Nova Scotia. On December 22nd, 1992, her skeletal remains were located in a wooded area in Lower Sackville, N.S., near the Sackville Industrial Park.
The RCMP/HRP Major Crime Unit is actively investigating this case.
