Local police of Panama have found a body it suspects to be associated with a of longtime missing persons case of a Ottawa resident Ed Moynan. 68-years-old Moynan owned Centennial Glass in Ottawa for more than two decades and recently moved to Panama only two years ago. He was reported missing on Nov. 8, after which it took almost four-month for the authorities to locate a suspected body.

Moynan’s sister, Ruth Alchemy, who currently resides of Panama, has confirmed that she was approached by the authorities on Sunday night, updating her about the development in the case. Alchemy confirmed the news, asserting that “yes, there has been a body found, but we’re still waiting for some results,” while also elaborating that “they are doing DNA testing on it.” Alchemy further revealed that even though a formal identification has not been confirmed through reports, police officials are seeming pretty confident about the body to be of her brother.

The police was already suspecting foul play since the initial stages of investigation, regardless of the apparent delay in reporting the case of disappearance. Moynan had been missing since Thursday from his home in the coastal city of Coronado, however the report was not submitted with police until Saturday since his wife, Louise, had been visiting Ottawa at the time. Even though she wasn’t the first to visit the house since her husband’s disappearance, Louise, immediately identified discrete, but apparent, signs of a violent struggle. She attentively identified her husband’s glasses, which he always needed to wear, to be lying on the floor in broken condition.
