On Tuesday, March 1, 2011, police arrested a man in connection with a drug investigation.

It is alleged that:

– a man attended a Toronto hospital for a medical concern,

– he admitted to hospital staff that, on January 7, 2011, he ingested packages of cocaine in Jamaica,

– police seized 11 capsules of cocaine from the man at the hospital,

– an additional 34 capsules has to be surgically removed from the man’s stomach and intestinal tract.

– On Tuesday, March 1, 2011, the accused was arrested by police.

Marlon Rhooms, 31, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Import controlled substance,
2) Possession for the Purpose Cocaine,
3) Possession for the Purpose Cocaine,
4) Fail to Comply with Probation.

The accused was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall, on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, room 103, at 10 a.m.
