The trailer of the Shaad Ali directorial OK Jaanu recently hit the web and since then, if there is one thing that has gained attention, it is the flavour of A R Rahman style music. Considering that even the original version of the film, the Tamil romance drama OK Kanmani had music by the maestro, this one is no different. However, we had earlier reported that this film will feature one of the musician’s classic tracks.
Earlier we had reported that the peppy track from Bombay (1995), ‘Humma Humma’ will be recreated for Ok Jaanu. While the earlier version was picturized on Manisha Koirala, Arvind Swamy with Sonali Bendre in a special appearance, this one will feature the film’s leads, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. Here’s the first look of the number. The makers maintained that they want to retain the essence of the track and DJ Badshah mentioned that it will be a sort of tribute to the Oscar winning musician A R Rahman.
It seems that they have already sort permission from Rahman and Badshah for recreating the same with composer Tanishk Bagchi. As mentioned before, this version will be sung by Jubin Nautiyal and Shashaa Tirupati.
OK Jaanu is the official remake of Mani Ratnam’s 2015 film OK Kanmani that starred Dulquer Salman and Nithya Menon in lead roles.
