Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced today the preliminary plans for their 2012 Major League Soccer preseason, highlighted by a return trip to Grande Sports World in Casa Grande, Arizona, and participation in the 2012 Disney Pro Soccer Classic in Orlando, Florida.
Whitecaps FC players will report for the 2012 preseason training camp in Vancouver on January 23 before leaving for a 10-day camp at the Grande Sports World complex in Casa Grande, Arizona, on Tuesday, January 31. This will mark the third consecutive preseason that Whitecaps FC will have visited the multi-field sports complex in The Grand Canyon State. Training matches in Arizona will be confirmed at a later date.
After a brief stint back in Vancouver, the ‘Caps will then head to Orlando, Florida, on Monday, February 20, for the annual Disney Pro Soccer Classic held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Running from Friday, February 24, to Saturday, March 3, the 2012 edition of the preseason tournament has been expanded from four to eight clubs, including Major League Soccer sides FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo, Toronto FC, Sporting Kansas City and expansion team Montreal Impact. Swedish premier division club BK Häcken and United Soccer Leagues Professional Division champions Orlando City round out the field.

The remainder of the 2012 preseason and MLS regular season schedule will be announced at a later date.
