The Creators Lounge, an event series begun six months ago by Japanese-born creators to showcase provocative fresh-off-the-plane, Japanese contemporary culture, celebrates its eight-month anniversary with a special event Creators’ Lounge Per Tutti at Bassline Music Bar on May 23rd, 2013 at 8:00 pm (ends at 1:00 am). This serendipitous event incorporates every possible aspect of contemporary Japanese culture featuring internationally renowned Japanese creators and rising stars who are inspired, in whole or in part, by Japanese culture. Creators’ Lounge Per Tutti~ largely highlights two different outlets of expression: live performances, and art exhibition. A professional entertainer Ryo Matsuzawa, who is the secret of the success of the legendary Japanese restaurant GUU, joins the Creators Lounge for the first time as a beat-boxer to perform his newest eclectic expression featuring Adrian Steiner. His performance is followed by a dance performance by Takahiro Iwai, a former winner of the Dance Delight Contest in Japan, while Random, one of the founding members of the Creators Lounge, will be painting his works on live canvasses. Michael Pitropov, Sayaka Miwa, Show-Tah, and Sophia Feesh all of whom have their own unique ways of expression that blend Japanese flavours with other cultural references are also featured. Shuma Kato, who has recently created a trailer video for the Creators Lounge, and Mampei Miyamoto, the official photographer of the Creators Lounge, will also show their creations that reflect current Japanese sensibilities.
