On Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 10:00 p.m. Peel Regional Police were called to an address on Kingknoll Drive, in Brampton. Police arrived to find two people suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Both parties were taken to hospital, where the victim, Anita Summan, a 51 year old female, succumbed to her injuries. The second victim, Gurcharan Doal, a 46 year old male, remains in hospital in life threatening condition. Both victims are from the Brampton area.
The accused, Iqbal Singh, 46 years of age from Brampton, turned himself in to 22 Division at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2014.
Iqbal Singh has been charged with Second Degree Murder and Attempted Murder. He will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice for a Bail Hearing on Thursday, January 23, 2014.
