Amar Singh was granted temporary bail on 15th September on medical grounds. Today, a Delhi court will decide on the bail plea of cash-for-votes scam.
Previously, Sangita Dhingra Sehgal, the CBI special court Judge had granted bail to Amar Singh while directing Amar to apply for regular bail.
According to the bail conditions, Singh cannot travel abroad and has been directed to surrender his passport, and provide a personal bond and surety of Rs 200,000.
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was asked by the court to submit a detailed report on Singh’s day-to-day health status on September 19.
The doctors recommended that Amar was required to be shifted to a leading medical institute because of his deteriorating health. Later from Tihar Jail, Singh was shifted to AIIMS on the evening of 12th September.
Amitabh Bachchan, Bollywood superstar and Amar Singh’s long time friend, alongwith his daughter, Shweta Nanda, visited the All India Institute of Medical Sciences to see Amar. Amar is undergoing treatment for diarrhea and urinary tract infection. Bachchan and Shweta met Singh in the private ward.
The doctor said “He (Bachchan) came around 12 noon and went straight to see his friend. He was there with him for about an hour-and-a-half and then Bachchan also spent about 30 minutes with the doctors.” The wife of Singh was also present with him in his private room.
