The Hamilton Police Service have arrested and charged a Mississauga man alleged to be in possession of child pornography.
Today at approximately 7:30 a.m., members of the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit along with members of the Technological Crime Unit, and Patrol attended a residence on Hillcrest Avenue in Mississauga and arrested a male party . The investigation was started by Hamilton Police after receiving information from the GO Transit authority on August 9th 2013. A data storage device was left on one of the buses which was then handed over to police. Further investigation led to identifying the owner of that device.
Charged: Umaibalan Ravichandran 25 yrs of age of Mississauga
Charges: Possession of Child Pornography
Hamilton Police are continuing their investigation and further charges are possible.
Bail Hearing is scheduled for this afternoon.
